Mental Health Music Monday Playlist #10
A weekly selection of three songs exploring mental health. To help you discover more songs to relate to, and artists to listen to ♫
Hey there,
It's a new week, a new month, and Mental Health Music Monday Playlist time! 🎶
Today, I was thinking you could join me writing, and not just listening.
Every week, I share songs that echo emotions we often struggle to name. Music has that power: to say what we can’t, to soothe what feels too tangled. But sometimes, it’s our own words that we need most.
Journaling can be a good act of selfcare. A space to lay down your thoughts, notice small things inside of you and around you, and gently guide yourself through difficult moments, or just the everyday life. It doesn’t have to be polished or poetic, just honest. A few minutes with a pen (or keyboard) can shift the shape of a day.
So this week, in addition to sharing songs with you, I invite you to explore your own inner soundscape. Here are two journaling prompts to accompany you into the week ahead:
🎧 Prompt 1: “If this week had a soundtrack…”
What kind of music would it play? Would it be calm and instrumental, upbeat and hopeful, full of heavy bass or quiet pauses? Let yourself describe it, and maybe even pick a song or invent a title. What does that say about how you're feeling about the week to come?
📝 Prompt 2: “What is one small thing I can do to care for my mental health this week?”
Write about a simple action, something manageable and real, that could support your emotional well-being. It could be as tiny as stepping outside for a walk, drinking water mindfully, texting a friend, or turning off notifications for a while. Why does this small thing matter to you?
🎵 “Around the sun” – Hunter Hayes
🎵 “Finding My Feet” – JERUB
🎵 “Good to Yourself” - Tyrone Wells
And remember, you can find the full Sonder & Petrichor playlist on Spotify 😉
Take care,
